Yeh Dil Abhi Bhara Nahi Marathi play review

The play Yeh Dil Abhi Bhara Nahi takes place within a single set of a home in Pune. The focus of the protagonist Arun Nagarkar, played by Vikram Gokhale and his relationship with his wife Vandana, played by Rima Lagoo. The premise is very humourous: the husband decides to retire from his job to give his wife company after their son emigrates. However, the wife has her own plans….

The smartly marching squads, the music bands and the colourful floats - it was a matter of pride to be present on this momentous occasion. 2015 Republic Day parade Mumbai Sanjay Gandhi National Park float

With the 2016 Republic Day fast approaching , let's go back and have a look at the floats showcased at last year's parade at the Shivaji park grounds in Mumbai, Maharashtra. As usual, the floats were awesome. 

One of these which stood out with its sheer vibrant colours and detailed designing was that of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP), located at Borivali, Mumbai. It deserves a blog post all to itself!

Shevgyacha Shenga Marathi play review

Written and directed by Gajendra Ahire, the Marathi play's title Shevgyacha Shenga refers to the drumsticks, which play a role in one of the scenes. 

The play’s theme is companionship. What’s new about that one may well ask. What’s new is that it delves into issues of gender, such as menopause. There were audible gasps in the audience when characters spoke openly about it.

2014 Republic Day Parade Marine Drive, Mumbai schedule and highlights

Every year, the Republic Day Parade in Mumbai is held at the Shivaji Park grounds. This year, for the first time the parade will be along the Marine Drive stretch.

Book discussion Return of a King The Battle of Afghanistan

Renowned Scottish author William Dalrymple's latest book Return of a King: The Battle of Afghanistan was published in December 2012. It has received a lot of acclaim like his previous books, one of which was his first one 'In Xanadu'.

The author's gift for narration has come to the fore in the well-researched Return of a King: The Battle of Afghanistan based on the first Anglo-Afghan War. This war was a battle between the British East India company and Afghanistan.

Since last year, the Republic Day parade at the Shivaji Park grounds in Mumbai have included tribal performances. The simple and unique traditional folk dances of indigenous tribals have been showcased. The 2013 Republic Day parade event has even more such performances than last year.

2013 Republic Day Parade Floats Shivaji Park Mumbai

One of the highlights of the Republic Day parade are the beautiful tableaux or floats which represent various aspects of the State and country. This year at the 2013 Republic Day parade at the Shivaji Park grounds, there were not only many more floats but they were far more magnificent than even previous years. It was not so much  the size of each float that was an awesome sight, but the extremely painstaking efforts made for even the smallest details.

2013 Turtle Festival Velas Beach Ratnagiri booking

Every year, turtle hatchlings, primarily of the Olive Ridley turtle species, are gently guided into the sea from over 600 nests across 30 or more villages around the beach of Velas. This beach is located in the district of Ratnagiri in Maharashtra.

The project of releasing the turtle hatchlings is celebrated as the Turtle Festival.
