2013 Republic Day Parade Floats Shivaji Park Mumbai

One of the highlights of the Republic Day parade are the beautiful tableaux or floats which represent various aspects of the State and country. This year at the 2013 Republic Day parade at the Shivaji Park grounds, there were not only many more floats but they were far more magnificent than even previous years. It was not so much  the size of each float that was an awesome sight, but the extremely painstaking efforts made for even the smallest details.

The floats were colourful, meticulously designed and beautifully showcased with life like props.

There were dolphins dancing in front, while young men & women on the float were wearing various types of gear to represent the varied water & adventure sports available in Maharashtra. These included rock climbing, para-gliding, scuba diving and water scooters. There were even 2 life guards walking alongside the float.

  2. Serrah, thanks for visiting my blog. Some of the floats are set up at the site of the parade itself. You could also contact each Department's administrative officials via their websites & make inquiries on the artists who created and designed the floats.
