2013 MHADA flats lottery sale at Virar and Vengurla

The Maharashtra Housing and Development Authority (MHADA) will be putting on sale over 2000 flats via a lottery system next year in May 2013. Out of this number, about 150 flats will be at Vengurla in the Konkan region while the rest will be in Virar. The winners of the lottery will get possession of the flats in 2014 as stated by MHADA. 2013 MHADA flats locations

About Vengurla

This town is located 522kms from Mumbai, in the Sindhudurg District of Maharashtra. It is most famous for its Vengurla beach and temples, primarily the Shri Rameshwar Mandir. 

The nearest railway station is at Kudal on the Konkan railway route. From Kudal you can board one of the State transport buses & it is approx. 25kms to Vengurla from Kudal. 

The nearest airport is the Dabolim airport at Goa (about 59kms away).

Schools: There are a lot of Zilla parishad schools, Govt. schools and private schools in and near Vengurla.

Colleges: There are a couple of colleges in Vengurla, such as the Vengurla Homeopathic College, the B.M. Gogate College and Khardekar College.

About Virar
Virar is located within commuting distance from Mumbai, on the Western  Railway route. The Arnala beach and Rajodi beach attract crowds of people regularly. A large amusement park, called Yazoo Park, was opened last year and is also popular. Virar is equally popular for para-gliding enthusiasts thanks to plenty of open land & hills.

Virar is famous for its Jivdani temple, Vajreshwari temple and St. Peters Church.
 

Schools: There are lots of schools in Virar, including the State Board's SSC schools, ICSE schools and CBSE schools.

Colleges: Virar has many well known arts, science, commerce, engineering and management colleges.

2013 MHADA flat rates

As informed by MHADA the flat rates at Vengurla will be lower than those for Virar.

• Proposed price of MHADA flats at Virar: Rs.3,200/- per square feet
• Proposed price of MHADA flats at Vengurla: Rs.2,000/- per square feet

Income groups for the 2013 MHADA flats

• Higher Income Group (HIG): monthly salary should be Rs.40,000/- onwards
• Middle Income Group (MIG): monthly salary between Rs.20,000/- to Rs.40,000/-.
• Low Income Group (LIG): monthly salary between Rs.8,000/- and Rs.20,000/-.

Out of the flats which will be on sale, 14 will be set aside only for the HIG buyers.
