2012 Mood Indigo Livewire All India rock band competition dates

Mood Indigo is one of the best organised and most popular festivals not just in Mumbai but in the country. Hosted by IIT-Bombay, it attracts hordes of entries for its various competitive events from educational institutions all over India, not to mention hundreds of happy spectators. One such event is Livewire, the rock band competition. This year, though, this specific event will not be confined just to a Mumbai venue. Eliminations will be held in 4 cities: Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai & Bengaluru.

Last year’s winners Verses got a wonderful opportunity to represent the country at the prestigious Global Battle of Bands. Reputed national and international bands may perform live too during the event. The best part is that you don’t need to be a college band to register. However, make sure that the lineup for the band remains the same throughout the competition.

The theme for this year’s Mood Indigo festival is Tribal Tryst. As part of the competition, there will be an essay contest & the winners will visit tribal areas in India. 

Last Date of Registrations for 2012 Mood Indigo Livewire contest 

• South Zone, Bangalore : 16th October
• East Zone, Kolkata : 21st October
• North Zone, Delhi : 28th October
• West Zone, Mumbai : 4th November

Elimination Dates for 2012 Mood Indigo Livewire contest

• Bengaluru: October 21^st 2012
• Kolkata: October 28^th 2012
• New Delhi: November 4^th 2012
• Mumbai: December 3^rd 2012 (tentative date)

Semi Finals in Mumbai: 19th December, NCC Court, IIT Bombay

Finals in Mumbai: 20th December, Main stage, Open Air Theater, IIT Bombay

2012 Mood Indigo Livewire contest Prizes

• Rs. 75,000/- cash prize for the winners.
• Furtados vouchers worth INR 1,60,000 to be given away.
• The top 3 bands will open for the International Headliner at Mood Indigo.
• The winner gets the opportunity to record an album at a recognized studio.
• The top 3 bands will be profiles in Big M magazine. 
• The top 3 performances will feature on RSJ T.V.
