The monsoon season is the best time to go on a crocodile safari in the Konkan region of Maharashtra. It takes about 5 hours to drive down to the village of Maldoli, located on the banks of Vashisti river in Chiplun.
The Vashisti river is home to the rare Marsh crocodile. It is not just the large water beasts that you get to see, but also plenty of avian species, not to mention picturesque views. You can get accommodation in
huts & cottages. Don't expect any fancy accommodation! Nor are there any shops out there. It is just you and nature.
