There were some very well-designed creative floats at the 2012 Republic Day parade held at Shivaji Park, Mumbai. A float in the shape of a train showcased well known landmarks in and around Mumbai, such as the Gateway of India, Elephanta Caves & a tiger depicting the wild species at the Borivali National Park.

A large brightly coloured float depicted the need to save the girl child & showed what potential a girl child has in various fields, proving that a girl can do anything possible.

A third float was all decked up in green. Atop stood a Village Head & a farmer, admonishing people to grow more trees and not to use plastic bags. Everybody cheered them!
