Where to buy and book online eco-friendly clay Ganapati idols in Mumbai

Ganapati idols made of Plaster of Paris are extremely harmful to the environment because during immersion of the idols the material does not dissolve in water for hundreds of years. It is therefore advisable to buy eco-friendly idols made from clay (known as Shadu), which dissolve within an hour of immersion. Supporting this eco-friendly activity is the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB). In collaboration with the Nirmaljyot Charitable Trust, MPCB has launched the Eco Ganesha program through which it is selling Shadu Ganesha idols at over two dozen outlets in the city of Mumbai and its suburbs.

How to book your eco-friendly Ganapati online

1. Select the Ganapati idol at this website: http://www.ecoganesha.org/how-to-order-murti

2. Call +91 98201 62078 or 98201 52078 to know the availability of the idol (you can book more than one idol)

3. Make a payment through Bank Transfer (see website for bank account details) or cash deposit

4. On completing the Bank transfer, send an email to nirmaljyottrust@gmail.com along with following details:

• The code number of the Murti
• The transaction ID
• Mode of payment: Check / Cash deposit
• Amount Transferred
• Your Bank Name
• Your Phone Number
• Your preferred collection place (where you will collect the Murti from)

5. On receipt of the payment, you will be informed through email or called by phone to collect your selected eco-friendly Ganesha Murtis and you will be given the payment receipt at the delivery centre.
